Free Boiler Scheme for Landlords
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a scheme which began in April 2013 to help tackle fuel poverty and greatly reduce carbon emissions.
If you are a landlord and you have a tenant who resides at your property on qualifying benefits your property could benefit from external wall insulation or loft insulation. With your permission we could have a fully insulated property in less than two weeks.
The criteria remain the same for tenant’s as well as homeowners. Qualifying customers could have their homes insulated free of charge. Your tenants would be required to be on one of the following benefits:
- Child Tax Credit
- Income-Related ESA
- Income-Based JSA
- Income Support
- Guarantee Pension Credit
- Working Tax Credits
- Universal Credit
- Disability Living Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment
- Attendance Allowance
- Carer’s Allowance
- Severe Disablement Allowance
This scheme of insulating homes are available for any customer on the above qualifying benefits to aid them in reducing the cost of heating their home and bringing down their carbon footprint. If you meet the benefits related criteria, you could qualify.
You are not required to repay any money back for this scheme. The scheme was simply set up to support the energy company’s customers. All properties are given a lifetime saving score which is worked out on property type, number of bedrooms and wall type. From this calculation the amount of funding can be confirmed which is then allocated towards the cost of your new boiler. Most installs have full funding but unfortunately in some cases a small contribution may be required.
We have been involved with the ECO scheme since it began and have a wealth of knowledge in this sector. If you qualify we will complete everything with you direct from the first phone call all the way to heating your home with the new boiler. All our Engineers are fully qualified, so you can have full peace of mind that replacing of your boiler will be completed to the highest standard.
