The scheme began in April 2013 and is currently in its second phase with ECO2T, it was created to help tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions. The Government work with the energy providers to supply and install energy saving boilers to help eligible fuel poor homes lower their energy bills and become more energy efficient.

All properties are given a lifetime saving score which is worked out on property type, number of bedrooms and wall type. From this calculation the amount of funding can be confirmed which is then allocated towards the cost of your new boiler. Most installs have full funding but in some cases a contribution may be required.

The scheme is paid for by the energy companies as they have an obligation to reduce carbon emissions and get customers out of fuel poverty.
